I've always had a keen interest for asian writers and their personal accounts of asian history, with particular preference to the world war 2 and the cultural revolution. Even though the stories told are similar, it still amazes me the hardships these people were able to endure, and live through. Most female children were treated with contempt and hatred as they were not able to carry on the family name and were 'debts' of the family due to marriage dowry. If i have child in the future, no matter the gender, they will be equally educated and loved. Education isn't all that bad huh. Takes about 4 hours to get through a book. phew. |
